We have a number of different divisions, including; Energy, Oil & Gas, Water & Process, International and Control & Automation. We have over 700 employees and with a healthy forward order book and a projected turnover of £140m this year, it is an exciting time to join the business. We are currently seeking to appoint a Graduate in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, to join our Estimating & Proposals team, based at our Head Office in Southampton. The successful candidate will join our Graduate Program and will be working within a multi-disciplinary team of Engineers, responsible for producing cost estimates, together with the preparation of the necessary technical and commercial submission documentation for a wide variety of M&E Engineering projects across the UK and overseas, including process or water and wastewater industries, petrochemical, power and energy. As you progress you will be responsible for elements of estimating, taking greater responsibility for your work. Continual professional development including professional registration is encouraged and actively supported.
Role & Responsibilities
The Trant Graduate Scheme is offered to all Graduates joining the business. This a period of training and development over 24 months, where you are assigned a mentor to carry out basic training associated with your discipline to enable you move from a Graduate Engineer, to a Junior Estimating & Proposals Engineer to a fully competent Estimating & Proposals Engineer. You will initially spend 6 weeks at our Head Office where you will be inducted into the business. During this time you will receive safety, health, environmental & quality training, learn the company policies & procedures and receive training to use the company Project Management System. After completion of the 6 week induction, you will join the Estimating & Proposals (being guided by your mentor) and will become competent in your role. At 12 months, you will have commenced working on your professional review Initial Professional Development (IPD) and will be actively engaged in the Professional Forum. At this time you should be ready to work independently as a Junior Estimating & Proposals Engineer and by 24 months you should be classified as a Estimating & Proposals Engineer and possibly be mentoring your own first year Graduate.
