We have an immediate requirement to appoint a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our Head Office in Southampton from Summer 2020. Working for our Water/Waste water, Oil & Gas or Nuclear Business Sectors, projects will involve a mixture of building, civil engineering and Mechanical & Electrical works. The role involves working for and being mentored by a Senior Quantity Surveyor and duties include but are not limited to;
The Trant Graduate Scheme is offered to all Graduates joining the business. This a period of training and development over 24 months, where you are assigned a mentor to carry out basic training associated with your discipline to enable you move from a Graduate QS, to an Assistant QS to a fully competent QS who would be responsible for managing their own portfolio of schemes.
You will initially be inducted into the business and you will receive safety, health, environmental & quality training, learn the company policies & procedures and receive training to use the company Project Management System whilst working with your teams and being allocated a mentor.
You will be guided by your mentor and will become competent in carrying out Quantity Surveying tasks. By 12 months, you should have commenced working on your professional review Initial Professional Development (IPD) and will be actively engaged in the Professional Forum. At this time, you should be ready to work independently as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and by 24 - 36 months you should be classified as a Project QS and likely to be mentoring your own first year Graduate.
