We have an immediate requirement for a Contracts Manager to join our International Team, based from our offices in Southampton. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing projects overseas. Current projects are in The Falklands and Singapore and the projects comprise of civils, building and M&E works. With the overseas site team reporting in to you, the Contracts Manager will be responsible for the management of pre-construction and site delivery.

The Contracts Manager reports into the Director for International Projects; duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the successful delivery of overseas projects, comprising civil engineering, building and M&E works within programme and budget
  • Managing a team of at least 15 people based at Head Office and the remote management of on-site delivery teams overseas. The team includes Designers, Planners and Site Managers
  • Monthly reporting to clients and the Board of Directors at Trant
  • Working closely with the Commercial teams, monitoring budgetary control
  • Ensuring Health & Safety policies are always adhered to
  • Attending strategy meetings
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with new and existing clients
  • Travelling overseas on occasion to meet with clients and visit sites
  • Due to the complexity of projects that we work on, it is essential that applicants have a background in working as a Contracts Manager, managing the successful delivery of building, M&E and civil engineering projects. A background of working on overseas projects would be a strong advantage. 

Key Skills / Background;

  • HNC/HND/BSc in an engineering discipline or equivalent by experience
  • A background of working in a Contracts Management role, successfully delivering profitable projects
  • Strong management skills, with the ability to get the best out of your team
  • Confident, hard-working and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong contractual knowledge
