Our in-house multi-disciplinary services include civil, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation, supplemented by the design and manufacture of Control Panels, MCC’s, PLC’s, SCADA and automation systems. We also provide a range of bespoke modular and containerised water & wastewater treatment and fuel conditioning systems.

We are currently recruiting for an Innovation Manager to join our Process & Water Sector, working on the Southern Water MEICA Framework at Trant BTU.

The Innovation Manager will be accountable for the leadership and strategic direction of the innovation arm of the business operation. As part of the Senior Management team this role will be responsible for stimulating an environment for innovation, promoting, and developing strong innovative solutions. The candidate must be able to lead new thinking and nurture new ideas from concept, through pilot and possibly into mainstream water processes.

Reporting to the Framework Director, duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for managing the innovation process
  • Develop strategies around innovation
  • Client partnering to develop stronger relationships through implementation and delivery of innovative business ideas and processes
  • Managing a dedicated budget for innovation
  • Working closely with the senior management team from Southern Water and their dedicated innovation arm (Bluewave)
  • Chairing innovation Board Meetings
  • Preparation of detailed proposals for innovation excellence, which will be jointly delivered with Southern Water

It is essential that applicants have a strong background in the Water Industry (Wastewater in Particular). The successful applicant is likely to currently work within product development or perhaps in a Project Management role.

 Desired Skills / Background:

  • Batchelor or preferably master’s degree qualified in an Engineering discipline
  • A background of delivering business innovations from concept through to roll-out
  • Significant Water/Wastewater experience
  • A strong communicator with excellent presentation skills
  • Organised and structured in your approach
