Trant Engineering Limited is a multi discipline Engineering & Construction company with offices and projects throughout the UK and Overseas. We have a number of different divisions including Energy, Oil & Gas, Water & Process, International and Control & Automation.

With several projects in the area and a new large project starting 2020, we have immediate requirements for electricians to join our business, to be based with our Water Division in the Somerset region.   

Successful applicants will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out scoping of works
  • Installation of pumps and other machinery; ductile iron, stainless steel and other pipework above and below ground.
  • Safe use of appropriate lifting equipment.
  • Working safely in confined spaces.
  • Working and assisting with Civils teams on multidisciplinary jobs.
  • Reporting to Line Management all, accidents, incidents, and hazards.
  • Ensuring that all applicable safety controls are appropriately applied and adhered to

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • NVQ3 or equivalent Mechanical qualifications
  • Previous experience in similar industry is essential
  • Exposure to water treatment projects would be a bonus.

Beneficial Skills/Qualifications (training can be offered)

  • C&G Medium Risk Confined Space
  • Mobile Tower Erection (e.g. PASMA)
  • Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (e.g. IPAF)
  • Machine tickets (e.g mini digger, telehandler)
  • First Aid at Work
  • SSSTS (for Lead Fitters)

Our work can be varied; candidates should be flexible and willing to assist with small civils aspects of jobs.

Successful applicants will undergo a 4 week induction / familiarisation period based on jobs local to head office in Southampton before transferring to work in the Somerset / Wiltshire region.
