Trant Engineering are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team at our clean water project at Testwood, Southampton

We also provide a range of bespoke modular and containerised water & wastewater treatment and fuel conditioning systems.

Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on our Southern Water Framework, initially based at Testwood, Southampton. You will be reporting to a Project Manager and will be responsible for supporting all technical and commercial aspects of Mechanical and Civil installations on site. 

The Mechanical project engineer candidate will be qualified in Mechanical Engineering but ideally will also have a good appreciation of electrical engineering as well.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Attend internal and external design review and progress meetings
  • Produce and review mechanical design documentation
  • Produce specifications and outline designs
  • Procurement of Mechanical Equipment and support for subcontract procurement
  • Ensure that site installation works and quality match both design and appropriate industry standards
  • Record and Review as-built information
  • Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Programme Updates
  • Procurement schedules

Qualification/Competency

  • Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Water Engineering background preferred but not essential
  • Water hygiene ticket 
  • Good working Knowledge of Safety, Health Environment and Quality Procedures
  • Microsoft Office and CAD packages
  • Good appreciation of Excel to a ‘Higher’ level
