We have an immediate requirement to appoint a hands-on contract P6 Planner to join our office in Altrincham to work on the IPW Framework for National Grid and we are interested in receiving applications from individuals seeking permanent employment or work on a contact basis. We have won £43m of work over 19 sites with National Grid, the majority of which are in The Midlands and North West. Work is delivering the infrastructure for the Security Upgrades at gas and electric substations. We are working in a JV with Optilan; they are delivering the electrical works and Trant is delivering the civil engineering works.
The Planner will provide a full planning service for all projects and will ensure that project initiation, design, delivery and close out are all clearly highlighted and planned appropriately whilst interacting daily with Contracts Managers, the Commercial team and the Client where appropriate. Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
The ideal candidate will need to have a working knowledge of Primavera P6 & MS Project and have a background in the project planning of electrical/civil engineering contracts. You should be able to establish work sequence and activity durations for assigned projects and be able to provide schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in work planning and interfacing with others. It is essential that you possess good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to develop and maintain relationships. You must also have excellent time management & organisational skills. Having a background of working on National Grid projects would be a strong advantage.
