We have an immediate requirement to appoint a P6 Planner to work on a civil engineering contract in Pembroke, Wales on a self-employed basis. Works involve excavation, concrete, reinforcement, culverts, pipework etc. This is a temporary position for a minimum of 10 months (this may change if workload increases).

Working closely with the Project Manager and Head Office Planning Manager, the Planner will provide a full planning service for all projects and will ensure that project initiation, design, delivery and close out are all clearly highlighted and planned appropriately whilst interacting daily with Contracts Managers, the Commercial team and the Client where appropriate. Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Assist in the preparation of schedule data for contracts
  • Work with the Contracts Managers to determine schedule rates for work activities and milestones to support project schedule
  • Establish work sequence and activity durations for assigned projects
  • Attend programme & progress meetings with Client
  • Review and analyse the supplier’s schedules submitted
  • Familiar with Earned Value, Resourcing & progressing techniques
  • Preparation of Project Changes, Budget allocations


Requirements:

The ideal candidate will need to have a working knowledge of Primavera P6 & MS Project and have a background in the project planning of civil engineering contracts. You should be able to establish work sequence and activity durations for assigned projects and be able to provide schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in work planning and interfacing with others. It is essential that you possess good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to develop and maintain relationships. You must also have excellent time management & organisational skills.

Oil/Gas/Petrochemical experience is desirable but not Essential. 

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND/BSc in Civil Engineering or by experience
