We have a requirement to appoint a hands-on P6 Planner to join our Head Office in Southampton. You will be responsible for the planning of 2 no. Waste Water Treatment Works in Hampshire comprising of civil engineering and M&E works, using Primavera P6.

You will provide a full planning service and will ensure that project initiation, design, delivery and close out are all clearly highlighted and planned appropriately whilst interacting daily with Contracts Managers, the Commercial team and the Client where appropriate.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Assist in the preparation of schedule data for contracts
  • Work with the Contracts Managers to determine schedule rates for work activities and milestones to support project schedule
  • Reviewing subcontractor programmes
  • Establish work sequence and activity durations for assigned projects
  • Attend programme & progress meetings with Client regularly
  • Review and analyse the supplier’s schedules submitted
  • Familiar with Earned Value, Resourcing & progressing techniques
  • Preparation of Project Changes, Budget allocations

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will need to have a working knowledge of Primavera P6 & MS Project and have a background in the project planning of civil engineering and M&E contracts. You should be able to establish work sequence and activity durations for assigned projects and be able to provide schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in work planning and interfacing with others. It is essential that you possess good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to develop and maintain relationships. You must also have excellent time management & organisational skills.

Desired Skills / Background:

  • HNC/HND/BSc in Civil/Mechanical or Electrical or by experience
  • Knowledge of IChemE and NEC desirable
  • Advanced in the use of Primavera P6 & Microsoft Project
  • Having previously worked as a Planner on water projects would be advantageous but not essential
