We have an immediate requirement to appoint a hands-on P6 Planner to join our Head Office in Southampton, working on the Non-Infrastructure Framework for Portsmouth Water. This is a 5 year Framework and the P6 Planner will be responsible for the programmes of multiple contracts.

The Planner will provide a full planning service and will ensure that project initiation, design, delivery and close out are all clearly highlighted and planned appropriately whilst interacting daily with Contracts Managers, the Commercial team and the Client where appropriate. Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Assist in the preparation of schedule data for contracts.
  • Work with the Contracts Managers to determine schedule rates for work activities and milestones to support project schedule.
  • Establish work sequence and activity durations for assigned projects.
  • Attend programme & progress meetings with Client.
  • Review and analyse the supplier’s schedules submitted.
  • Familiar with Earned Value, Resourcing & progressing techniques.
  • Preparation of Project Changes, Budget allocations.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will need to have a working knowledge of Primavera P6 & MS Project and have a background in the project planning of civil and M&E engineering contracts. You should be able to establish work sequence and activity durations for assigned projects and be able to provide schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in work planning and interfacing with others. It is essential that you possess good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to develop and maintain relationships. You must also have excellent time management & organisational skills. Having a background of working on water projects would be advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND/BSc in Civil Engineering or by experience.
