We have over 800 employees and with a healthy forward order book and a projected turnover of £180m this year, it is an exciting time to join the business.

We have an immediate requirement to appoint a Quality Engineer to join our Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality team at our Head Office in Southampton. We work on multi discipline engineering projects comprising civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering. Working closely with the SHEQ throughout the business, you will monitor and maintain the processes, procedures, forms, structure and effectiveness of the company Business Management System.

Reporting into the Quality Manager, duties will include but are not limited to;

  • Supporting the Head of SHEQ and Quality Manager, in the production and publication of company procedures and supporting forms
  • Communicating Quality Assurance (QA) requirements across the company
  • Monitoring and measuring Management System effectiveness, including Data/Root Cause Analysis, Auditing (corrective and improvement action) and report writing
  • Ensuring improvement actions are implemented and closed within agreed timescales
  • QA planning activity
  • Supply Chain assessments and monitoring
  • Supporting Sites across Trant, UK wide conducting support visits and process audits to aid continual improvement

Background:

You will be working in a Quality role with a background in:

  • The construction Industry
  • Understanding of the scope and purpose of Quality Plans / Inspection & Test Plans and Quality Management Tools and Techniques
  • Producing Quality Performance Reports against Audit Criteria, Objectives / KPI’s, Contractual Requirements
  • Good understanding of 45001/14001
  • Essential skills and in-depth knowledge of 9001
  • Proven track record in auditing across multiple areas including 3rd party organisations

  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office and SharePoint)
  • High attention to detail/ accuracy
  • Flexible and proactive
  • Good written and spoken communication abilities
  • Ability to deliver presentations

Qualifications:

Essential -

  • An ISO9001 related Qualification
  • A background in Quality Assurance within the construction industry
  • Internal Auditor Trained (ISO9000 series)
  • Report Writing/ Presentation Skills

Desirable -

  • ISO9001:2015 Trained
  • Project Management skills/experience
  • Environmental skills/experience
