We have an immediate requirement to appoint a Quality Lead, to join our Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality team at BTU Trant in Havant. We work on multi discipline engineering projects comprising civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering. Working closely with the SHEQ teams on the Southern Water Framework (and at Head Office), you will be the Quality point of contract for the Southern Water Framework, monitoring and maintaining the processes, procedures, forms, structure and effectiveness of the company Business Management System.

Reporting into the SHEQ Lead, duties will include but are not limited to;

  • Supporting the SHEQ Lead on the Southern Water Framework and also the Quality Manager at Head Office, in the production and publication of company procedures and supporting forms
  • Communicating Quality Assurance (QA) requirements across the Framework
  • Monitoring and measuring Management System effectiveness, including Data/Root Cause Analysis, Auditing (corrective and improvement action) and report writing
  • Ensuring improvement actions are implemented and closed within agreed timescales
  • QA planning activity
  • Supply Chain assessments and monitoring
  • Supporting Sites across Trant BTU, throughout the Southern Water region, conducting support visits and process audits to aid continual improvement


You will be working in a Lead Quality role with a background in:

  • The construction/engineering Industry
  • Understanding of the scope and purpose of Quality Plans / Inspection & Test Plans and Quality Management Tools and Techniques
  • Producing Quality Performance Reports against Audit Criteria, Objectives / KPI’s, Contractual Requirements
  • Good understanding of 45001/14001
  • Essential skills and in-depth knowledge of 9001.
  • Proven track record in auditing across multiple areas including 3rd party organisations

  • Excellent time management/multi-tasking skills
  • Able to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office and SharePoint)
  • High attention to detail/ accuracy
  • Flexible and proactive
  • Good written and spoken communication abilities
  • Ability to deliver presentations


Essential -

  • An ISO9001 related Qualification
  • A background in Quality Assurance within the construction industry
  • Internal Auditor Trained (ISO9000 series)
  • Report Writing/ Presentation Skills

Desirable -

  • ISO9001:2015 Trained
  • Project Management skills/experience
  • Environmental skills/experience
