The Role:

We have an immediate requirement for a Quality & Systems Manager to join our SHEQ Department at our Head Office in Southampton. This role involves the day to day running and management of the companies SHEQ Management Systems. Reporting into the Head of SHEQ, duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding and working knowledge of SHE legislation
  • Having a full understanding of ISO 9000 Management System and its application in Construction
  • Proficient in both ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 Management Systems and their application in construction
  • Wide understanding and knowledge of construction methods and practices
  • Maintenance of Company SHEQ Policies
  • Able to design, develop, produce and communicate improved SHEQ management systems
  • Collection and analysis of information for improvement
  • Knowledge of preparing Company Plans and Reports
  • Maintenance of Company Third Party Registrations
  • Capable of identifying and managing Continuous Improvement Initiatives           


  • Degree or HND/HNC in related subject (or working towards)
  • CO1 Certificate in Quality Management (or equivalent)  
  • Trained and experienced auditor – SHEQ
  • Previous background of working in the engineering or construction sector
  • Having a background in managing Quality Teams


  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding and working knowledge of SHE legislation
  • Developed IT skills, particularly Word & Excel
  • Able to be thorough and to pay attention to detail
