We are currently recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor to join our team on site at Fawley Refinery, to work on various civil engineering works (including the FAST project). Working closely with the Contracts Manager and reporting into the Head Office based Health & Safety Manager, duties include but are not limited to;

  • Assisting and advising Site Management and site staff on all aspects of Health and Safety likely to affect Company operations
  • Support the Managers/Directors in the production, review and implementation of the relevant Project Management Plans and relevant Health & Safety documentation
  • To liaise with client representatives in relation to Health & Safety management of sites
  • Carrying out duties in accordance with the Company Management System, Policies (including Company Rules), and Statutory and Client requirements – uploading documents to portals
  • To work with all staff to ensure risk assessments are prepared and reviewed as necessary and assist with their preparation if necessary
  • Ensure that monthly site Health & Safety inspections are made
  • Providing competent Health, Environmental and Safety advice independent of other functions
  • Assisting the Site Management team to undertake measures to comply with SHE legislation
  • Undertaking surveys on personal workplace exposure levels to harmful substances, noise and vibration
  • Developing Safety Plans and Safe Working Procedures for civil engineering sites
  • Assisting in accident investigation
  • Promoting and communicating practices and advances in SHE
  • Maintain information update systems on legislation and practices
  • Ensuring compliance with procedures for reporting, recording, investigating and analysing; accidents, incidents vs. Hours worked
  • Permit coordination
  • Implementing, monitoring and auditing systems / assistance with Client Audits
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Company systems
  • Collation and production of overall Company reports and statistical analysis
  • Maintaining professional relationships with external organisations

Qualifications/background:

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate – Required
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate – Preferred
  • Background within Civil Engineering is essential
  • Good communication skill
  • Able to prioritise effectively
  • Good IT skills
