Our in-house multi-disciplinary services include civil, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation, supplemented by the design and manufacture of Control Panels, MCC’s, PLC’s, SCADA and automation systems. We also provide a range of bespoke modular and containerised water & wastewater treatment and fuel conditioning systems.

We have over 800 employees and with a healthy forward order book with a projected turnover of £180m this year, it is an exciting time to join the business.

BTU is part of the utilities sector of Trant Engineering and we have recently been awarded £250m of work over 5 years, on the AMP 7 Framework for Southern Water. We have an immediate requirement to appoint a Site Manager to manage a project refurbishing storm tanks in the Sussex/Kent area. Initially for 2 months, this could lead to additional projects within Eastern side of  the Southern Water region.  Reporting into the Senior Project Manager, duties include but are not limited to;

  • Controlling safety, quality & environmental activities and ensuring this is delivered to the highest standards
  • Overseeing a site delivery team
  • Ensuring project delivery within program & budget
  • Client interface
  • Writing and reviewing RAMS
  • Management of subcontractors
  • Progress reporting

Due to the complexity of works, it is essential that applicants have a background in the successful delivery of Civil Engineering projects but with an appreciation of M&E. You will have an excellent technical ability in this sector together with being a strong manager of people, possessing the ability to get the most out of your team. 


  • HND/BEng in Civil Engineering OR by experience
