The Lighthouse Charity visited our Head Office and two of our sites in the South of England this week providing an impactful presentation focused on mental health awareness in the Construction Industry.

The presentation covered how to recognise signs of stress, the importance of speaking up, and the support available to those who may be struggling. It was a valuable reminder that safety isn’t just about physical wellbeing, it’s about mental health too.

The Lighthouse representative had one-to-one conversations with staff, offering support, and encouraging open dialogue around mental health.

Alistair Parker, Energy Director said "It was a privilege to welcome the Lighthouse Charity to our Fawley site as part of their ‘Make It Visible’ tour. The lived experience shared during the session was a reminder of the importance of speaking up and supporting one another. We’re proud to stand alongside Lighthouse in championing mental health and wellbeing across our sites. Their powerful message around emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing in the construction industry resonated deeply with our team. All who attending took something positive out of the event and learnt much about what this great charity can provide”.

Timothy Trant, Process & Water Director said “It’s great to see such positive engagement from our site teams with regards to the Lighthouse Charity ‘Make it Visible’ visits. This reflects our first core value, Care, whereby we all have a duty and responsibility to look out for one another.”

Phil Eglese, Trant Project Manager said “It really wasn’t what we were all expecting, the guy’s stories and how their lives have been affected was very heavy to hear but a good way of communicating that everyone’s mental wellbeing counts…. I could see the engagement with everyone because of the way they delivered the message, not like a usual Toolbox talk, it was hard hitting.”
